What makes GLO technology better than other whitening lights?

Unlike many non-dental whitening places that use inexpensive external lights that primarily produce heat with little control, GLO uses patented Guided Light Optics™ technology—a sealed LED light and controlled warming system that accelerates the whitening gel directly and safely right at the tooth surface. Traditional cheap lights often use uncontrolled heat that can dry and irritate teeth or gums, whereas GLO’s warming LED and sealed mouthpiece traps reactive whitening oxygens against the enamel where they do the most good, reduces oxygen loss into the mouth, and minimizes sensitivity. This results in faster, more even whitening with less risk of sensitivity than light-only systems.

Is GLO whitening safe?

Yes—whether in-office or as part of our express experience, GLO’s warming LED light contains no UV radiation and uses regulated heat and professional-grade whitening gel designed to work together safely. The process has been tested and approved for professional use, and the mouthpiece system helps reduce the chance of sensitivity by keeping peroxide in direct contact with the tooth rather than soft tissue.

Most people tolerate GLO very well. Its proprietary technology is engineered to accelerate whitening while minimizing irritation and sensitivity. Because the heat and light are precisely calibrated and peroxide exposure time is reduced, sensitivity is generally less than other LED or heat-only systems.
